In a heartwarming show of advocacy and social responsibility, two reigning beauty queens have taken their platforms beyond the runway to champion menstrual hygiene and girl-child empowerment in Benin City. Daniella Oshawo, Queen of Miss Beauty Pageant International 2025, and Martha Oboroghenempha, Queen of Miss Tourism, Arts and Culture MBPI 2025, visited St. Mulumba Catholic Girls Secondary School, where they educated students on menstrual hygiene and donated sanitary pads to more than 200 girls.

The visit, held during the school’s Career Day event, marked the launch of their flagship initiative, “Pad Up a Girl Child Project.” The project seeks to raise awareness about menstrual health, promote proper hygiene practices to prevent future health complications, and encourage young girls to embrace self-care, confidence, and ambition.

Speaking during the session, Oshawo and Oboroghenempha explained that their campaign is not only about hygiene but also about inspiring girls to believe in their potential.

“We want them to understand that they can achieve anything they set their minds to, just like we did. Proper hygiene is essential, but so are confidence, ambition, and resilience,” they said.

The queens also announced plans for more community-driven initiatives, including health-related projects and the provision of furniture to schools in need, as part of their mission to uplift and empower young girls across Nigeria.

The event was well received by the students, many of whom described it as an eye-opening experience. Senior Prefect Chukwudiego Ngozi Chukwu expressed gratitude on behalf of the students, noting that for many, it was the first time they had received such important education on menstrual hygiene.

Udo Peter Oshoma, CEO of TwinsPorium Entertainment Agency — the company managing the queens — praised their dedication and impact.

“This is a day they have long anticipated, and they delivered excellently. ‘Pad Up a Girl Child’ is a noble cause, and they have done justice to it,” he said, adding that more impactful projects are underway.

Oshoma also acknowledged the support of Governor Monday Okpebholo for his contributions to the entertainment sector, which has made initiatives like this possible.

The “Pad Up a Girl Child” project marks the beginning of a larger movement by Oshawo and Oboroghenempha to combine advocacy with action — empowering the next generation of Nigerian girls with knowledge, confidence, and opportunities for a brighter future.
