Actress Carla Jeffery, who won recognition for playing Bree in Disney’s Zombies movie series, has died at the age of 33.
Jeffery’s manager, Carla Alexander, confirmed the actress’s death. Alexander, who heads Los Angeles-based Alexanders Talent Management, described Jeffery as someone who had become much more than a professional client.
“Carla was more than a client; she was family,” Alexander said, extending her condolences to Jeffery’s relatives and loved ones.
The circumstances surrounding the actress’s death have not been made public. Alexander told KTLA that more information would be provided in the coming days, while Jeffery’s cause of death remains undisclosed.
Born in Houston, Texas, Jeffery entered the entertainment industry at an early age. She began acting at 12 and made her film debut in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, starring alongside comedian and actress Mo’Nique.
Her career later expanded into television, with appearances in a number of Disney Channel productions. Her credits included Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up! and Best Friends Whenever.
Jeffery became particularly familiar to Disney audiences through her role as Bree in the Zombies franchise. In the films, Bree was portrayed as a loyal friend of Addison, played by Meg Donnelly. The character also featured in the franchise’s animated spinoff.
In addition to her work on Zombies, Jeffery appeared in Disney’s Prom Pact as well as other film and television productions during her career.
Alexander remembered Jeffery as a talented performer who was deeply committed to her work.
“She loved what she did. She was a great person,” her manager said.
