The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, also known as the OK Movement, has constituted a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The council comprises zonal and state coordinators as well as directors overseeing mobilisation, women affairs, strategy and planning, security, legal affairs, information technology, administration and other campaign functions. The structure covers Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, the Federal Capital Territory and all 36 states.
John Ughulu, the movement’s Director-General, will serve as Director-General of the campaign council, while National Secretary Saadatu Sani is also part of the campaign leadership.
The movement said the council would coordinate efforts to mobilise support for the joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, who are associated with the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a message to the newly appointed members, Sani described their selection as a responsibility to take the movement’s message to Nigerians across the country.
She urged members to work at the grassroots, stressing the need for mobilisation and engagement across states, local government areas, wards and communities.
Sani said the movement was focused on what it described as a broader national vision rather than individual recognition, and called on members of the council to demonstrate discipline, loyalty, teamwork and commitment to their assignment.
Among the zonal coordinators appointed are Suleiman Abubakar for the North-Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for the North-West, Amadu Gwambe for the North-East, Adebayo Adefolaseye for the South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for the South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for the South-East.
State coordinators were also named for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Other members of the council include Rev. Mike Agbon, Director of Inter-Ethnic Group in Northern Nigeria; Sabo Gashua, Director of Grassroots Mobilisation; Glory Adayi, Director of Women Affairs; Kabir Yahaya, Director of Contact and Engagement; and Abdumumini Tijjani, Director of Mobilisation.
Yusuf Mani was appointed Director of Special Duties, while Peace Daful will oversee Procurement. Prof. Charles Nwekeaku was named Director of South Eastern Town Hall, with Sunmisola Adebayo appointed Director of Information Technology.
Kingdom Okere will head Legal Affairs, Abiodun Dabiri will oversee Strategy and Planning, Richard Enemona, a retired CSP, will lead Security and Intelligence, while Aisha Abdulrahaman was appointed Director of Administration.
The movement had previously said it would maintain its independent organisational structure rather than merge with another political organisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The unveiling comes amid increasing political activity ahead of the 2027 elections. The movement has also recently called for an investigation into the reported disruption of Obi’s convoy during his visit to Benue State.
The OK Movement said its security personnel exercised restraint during the incident to prevent the situation from escalating.
The campaign council is separate from the formal presidential campaign structure of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, according to reports on the movement’s announcement.
