Victor Osimhen Agrees Personal Terms with Manchester United

Striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler. Çelikler revealed on a recent podcast that “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter,” indicating that discussions between the Premier League side and Serie A champions Napoli over the transfer fee are still ongoing.

Osimhen, currently enjoying a loan spell at Galatasaray, has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 29 goals and registering six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. His prolific output has intensified interest from several top European clubs, with United reportedly prioritizing the Nigerian international as they seek a reliable goal scorer to address Rasmus Højlund’s struggles—Højlund has managed just three Premier League goals this term, leading new head coach Rúben Amorim to consider offloading the Dane in the summer.

Napoli have set a €75 million (£63 million) release clause for Osimhen, but sources suggest they may be willing to negotiate a reduced fee to facilitate the move. Juventus have also circulated interest in the 25‑year‑old forward, though Napoli are said to be reluctant to sell to a direct Serie A rival—an obstacle that could tip the balance in United’s favor.

Financial terms of the proposed United contract have also been reported. Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük stated that the Red Devils have offered Osimhen a £660,000‑per‑week deal before tax, a salary that would make him the highest‑paid player at Old Trafford. “There is a high possibility that Osimhen will say goodbye [to Galatasaray], but there is no decision made at the moment,” Küçük added. “Juventus and Manchester United clearly want Osimhen. Both have tabled offers around €20 million net annually.”

Galatasaray, where Osimhen’s season‑long loan has seen him flourish, are reportedly keen to retain him but are unlikely to meet his financial demands; the Istanbul giants are said to have offered €15 million for a permanent transfer. Club vice‑president İbrahim Hatipoğlu recently emphasized the striker’s affection for Galatasaray: “Osimhen’s words do not mean that he will leave. He said Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he goes, but he did not say he would leave. We want him to stay.”

When pressed on his future, Osimhen himself remained non‑committal. “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I’m enjoying myself right now—both the club and my life here,” he told reporters last week.

United’s pursuit of Osimhen may also hinge on their final position in this season’s Europa League. The Nigerian forward has made clear his desire to play in next season’s Champions League, meaning qualification could prove decisive in his decision-making process. In the meantime, Manchester United are understood to be keeping backup targets—such as Liam Delap and Jean‑Philippe Mateta—on standby should talks with Napoli falter.
