Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has expressed deep gratitude to her fans and well-wishers after her brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, regained his freedom following his arrest on multiple criminal charges.
Ojeogwu was reportedly detained over allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft. His release prompted widespread celebration among family, friends, and supporters of the actress, who took to social media to express relief and appreciation.
Sharing a heartfelt video on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Regina Daniels appeared emotional yet joyful as she announced her brother’s release.
“And my brother is out. So, one battle down,” she said with a smile.
Reflecting on the love and solidarity shown by fans during the ordeal, she added:
“Guys, do you know it’s really such a big deal to be loved by a lot of people? Can I brag about that? I’m loved by so many people! The kind of love I received this period makes me emotional. I feel good.”
In a lighthearted jab at her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina remarked,
“Jokes on you, Ned, because you thought people would hate me.”
She went on to thank her supporters, saying,
“I have my mothers, fathers, uncles, brothers, sisters, friends, fans, online aunties, and online daddies — everybody fighting for me. Thank you, guys. I can’t even start mentioning names.”
A separate video shared by activist Omoyele Sowore on Monday captured jubilant scenes as friends and colleagues, including actress Mercy Johnson, joined in celebrating Ojeogwu’s release.
The development comes amid ongoing tension in Regina Daniels’ marriage to Ned Nwoko. The actress had earlier broken down in a viral video over her brother’s arrest, describing the experience as emotionally draining.
Senator Nwoko, however, has denied allegations of domestic violence, attributing the family’s issues to what he described as Daniels’ “drug and alcohol struggles.”
Despite the controversy, Regina’s latest post exuded optimism and gratitude, signaling a moment of relief amid the turbulence surrounding her personal life.
