Nigerian businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has announced the death of his wife.
Fayose disclosed the development in an emotional post shared on his Instagram page on Saturday.
The younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose posted an image of a candlelight alongside a brief tribute to his late wife.
“Rest In Peace, My darling wife,” he wrote.
In another emotional post, Fayose shared photographs of his wife while bidding her farewell with the words, “Odaro oyinbo mi.”
The tragic announcement comes months after Fayose publicly revealed that his wife had been battling cancer.
During a visit to his family in Australia in March, he shared details of her deteriorating health condition in a heartfelt Instagram video.
According to him, his wife had become severely weak and was unable to carry out basic activities she once handled effortlessly.
“My wife is not feeling well. When I got here, she was very weak. The same woman who usually picks me up at the airport couldn’t come, so I had to take an Uber,” Fayose had said emotionally.
He also recalled caring for her during the difficult period, explaining that he cooked for her and sang her favourite songs while sitting by her bedside.
The family has yet to release details regarding funeral arrangements.
