Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, has commended President Bola Tinubu for retaining Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 general elections, describing the decision as a strategic move that strengthens the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s electoral prospects.
Ndume made the remarks after paying a congratulatory visit to Vice President Shettima at his residence following his emergence as President Tinubu’s running mate for the forthcoming elections.
The lawmaker said the President’s decision demonstrated confidence in Shettima’s leadership qualities, loyalty, and dedication to the administration, adding that it reflected strategic foresight aimed at consolidating the party’s chances in the next presidential election.
“I visited His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, to congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition. It is our responsibility, both as leaders and as citizens of Borno State, to identify with and celebrate one of our own,” Ndume said.
He thanked President Tinubu for re-nominating the Vice President, noting that Shettima’s political experience, commitment to public service, and influence within the party would play a crucial role in boosting the APC’s campaign ahead of the 2027 polls.
Ndume described Shettima as a reliable and dedicated leader whose contributions to governance and the APC have continued to earn the confidence of party members and many Nigerians.
The senator expressed confidence that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket would build on the achievements of the current administration and provide the APC with a solid platform to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
