French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton has unveiled a custom-made trunk that will transport the FIFA World Cup trophy to the tournament’s final in New York-New Jersey, continuing its long-standing partnership with world football’s governing body.
The handcrafted trunk has been specially designed to carry football’s most coveted prize to the championship match. It features a bold gold “V,” symbolizing both “Victory” and “Vuitton,” alongside the brand’s iconic monogram canvas and gold-plated brass corner reinforcements.
Inside, the trunk is lined with beige leather and includes a commemorative patch celebrating Louis Vuitton’s enduring collaboration with FIFA.
The latest creation marks the fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has designed the official travel case for the trophy, following similar trunks produced for the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 tournaments.
Luxury brands have increasingly strengthened their ties with major sporting events over the years. Tiffany & Co. has crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to Super Bowl champions since 1967, while Louis Vuitton also produces custom trophy trunks for Formula 1 as part of its long-term partnership with the motorsport series.
The FIFA World Cup trophy is ordinarily displayed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich and is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious sporting awards. Designing its official travel case remains one of the highest-profile collaborations between luxury fashion and international sports.
