Thai Clinic Reveals Nigerian-British Man Received Five Penis Enlargement Procedures Before Death

Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer Igho Ubiribo underwent five penile enlargement procedures at a clinic in Bangkok before his death, according to Thai health authorities.

The Department of Health Service Support (DHSS), under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday following an inspection of the clinic where Ubiribo received his final procedure.

Ubiribo, 43, who was also known by the names “Tiny,” “Denisi” and “Ego,” died in March after undergoing a penile filler procedure while on holiday in Thailand with his wife.

According to the DHSS, the clinic told investigators that Ubiribo had been a regular patient since 2024 and had received five injections intended to enlarge his penis.

The authorities said the first four procedures were performed between 2024 and 2025, while the fifth was carried out on March 5, 2026, the day before his death.

The DHSS said emergency medical services received a request for an ambulance on March 5 from a private hospital in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area after Ubiribo lost consciousness.

His wife reportedly told medical personnel that he had received a filler injection earlier that day before going for a massage.

Doctors suspected a blood clot and prepared to conduct a CT angiography to examine his blood vessels. However, Ubiribo became unconscious and had no pulse before the scan could be completed.

Medical personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation but were unable to revive him.

The DHSS subsequently inspected the clinic on September 7 as part of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The clinic reportedly told investigators that Ubiribo had received five penile enlargement injections in total.

The final procedure involved the injection of 40cc of filler into his penis.

According to the clinic, the doctor had recommended that the 40cc injection be divided into two sessions, but Ubiribo opted to have the entire amount administered at once.

The clinic said it provided him with post-procedure care instructions and followed up with him after the treatment. It added that he did not report any problems and had signed consent forms before each procedure.

The investigation was ordered by Thailand’s Minister of Public Health, Pattana Promphat, who directed the DHSS and the Food and Drug Administration to examine the clinic following Ubiribo’s death.

DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot said the investigation would continue, with the professional-practice aspects of the case potentially being referred to Thailand’s Medical Council.

“We will gather all facts and evidence to proceed according to our authority and submit the case to the Medical Council for a ruling on professional practice standards, in order to ensure fairness to all parties,” the authorities said.

No finding of malpractice has so far been announced against the clinic.

Ubiribo’s death had previously been linked to the cosmetic procedure during a UK coroner’s inquest, where evidence indicated that the treatment caused a fatal pulmonary embolism.

Reports said approximately 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine had been injected during the final procedure.

After the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their hotel for a massage, where he complained of chest pain and collapsed twice.

He was taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors suspected a pulmonary embolism and planned a CT scan. However, he lost consciousness before the examination could be carried out.

Medical staff reportedly performed CPR for more than 100 minutes but were unable to revive him. He died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination later found material in his lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the penile filler procedure.

Following his death, aesthetic medicine and dermatology physician Dr Mobola Savage warned that penile filler procedures are not without risks.

She explained that the procedure was not conventional penile enlargement surgery but a non-surgical penile augmentation treatment primarily intended to increase penile girth.

The Thai investigation remains ongoing as authorities determine whether the clinic and medical professionals involved complied with required medical and professional standards.
