The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom
Wike, has articulated his
conviction that President Bola Tinubu’s victory at
the election petition tribunal is virtually assured. Wike, a staunch supporter
of Tinubu, who ran as the presidential candidate for the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election, expressed his faith in divine
support for their election endeavors, believing that God is on their side.
Furthermore, he expressed confidence in the competence of the
legal team representing President Tinubu at the tribunal, asserting his belief
that the tribunal’s verdict will favour President Tinubu.
Wike’s remarks were made during an interview with Channels
Television on Wednesday, as reported by Naija News.
During the same interview, Wike reaffirmed his decision not
to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the
presidential election. He emphasized that their actions were driven by a
commitment to justice and equity. Wike also expressed regret that Atiku had not
acknowledged his mistakes and sought forgiveness both before and after the
elections..
