Controversial figure Ifunanya Grant has asserted that she is
not actively engaged in the
practice of law, a declaration made shortly after
the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Aba branch lodged a complaint against her.
The attention has been directed towards this contentious law
graduate due to her inappropriate behavior on social media, which involved
instances of substance misuse as well as the sharing of explicit images and
videos.
In response to the allegations made by the NBA, Grant
clarified that she identifies as a ‘lawyer by education,’ highlighting that her
pursuits encompass not only legal studies but also modeling, influencing, and
acting.
She conveyed these statements through a video message
published on her TikTok account on Thursday, stating, “Remaining silent
might be misconstrued as an acknowledgment of guilt. Hence, it is imperative
for me to step forward and vindicate myself. While I possess legal knowledge, I
am not actively practicing law at this juncture.
“My current endeavors revolve around being a model, an
actress, and an aspiring musician—more precisely, a rapper. Every aspect of my
online presence is crafted for entertainment purposes exclusively. It bears no
relevance to my legal vocation. The practice of law is not my current pursuit,
and I have no immediate plans to engage in it. Consequently, my primary focus
is directed towards the realm of entertainment.”
