Renowned Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo, has revealed that she
engaged in a private
conversation with the widely acclaimed Lagos socialite,
Farida Sobowale, just moments before the latter’s daring suicide attempt on the
Third Mainland Bridge captured the public’s attention.
As reported by WITHIN NIGERIA, the socialite, popularly known
as King Phreedah, has been making headlines recently due to the buzz
surrounding her high-profile marriage collapse, following an extravagant and
extensively covered N100 million wedding.
Reports circulating online suggest that Farida’s husband,
Demola, had left their marital home to be with a woman he was involved with
prior to their marriage.
However, on Thursday, Farida allegedly steered her Lexus SUV
towards the bustling Third Mainland Bridge. After exiting the vehicle, she
stood precariously on the edge, appearing poised to leap into the waters of the
Lagoon, only to be dramatically rescued by a group of vigilant onlookers.
In a surprising revelation on social media, Iyabo Ojo
disclosed that she had been conversing with Farida just moments before the
heart-stopping incident occurred.
The intrigue deepens as Ojo shared that she received the
shocking news right after their call ended.
Iyabo Ojo expressed that she would have prolonged her
conversation with Farida had she been aware of the troubling thoughts that were
consuming her.
The cinematic icon added that this is a story they will
explore further when they reunite, expressing her gratitude that the crisis was
averted due to the timely intervention of those present. She sent her blessings
to these rescuers.
In words meant to provide comfort, she lifted Farida’s
spirits, reassuring her that this dark episode will eventually pass, making way
for brighter days ahead.
With a heartfelt declaration of affection, she professed her
love for Farida, urging her to remain strong and revealing that her prayers are
unwaveringly focused on her well-being.
She wrote: “@houseofphreedahbodycare my dear, if I had
known what was on your mind, I would have stayed on the phone with you. You
clearly had your intentions, but you diverted my attention elsewhere.”
