Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. (Tpl). Rasheed Lanre Makinde
recently stated this
at an interacting meeting with members of
Community Development
Committee. (CDC) Ijaiye Ojokoro.
Hon, Makinde disclosed that no fewer than
seven communities will
benefit from constituency project wish will be
executed soon, adding
that despite no provisions in the LSHA laws for
constituency project
allowance, it becomes imperative that
legislators do according to
resources at their disposal to contribute to the
development of their
immediate environment.
According to the lawmaker “ as soon as the
community leaders in each
ward submit the constituency project they wish
to be executed by him,
he will mobilise contractors to site and within
a short period of time
the project will be ready for commissioning”
“As a community leader, I know the importance of
community
development; therefore, I have pledged to fund
seven community base
projects which will go round the seven wards in
Ojokoro LCDA.”
“I will not decide for any community on the
choice of project, I have
given the CDC honour to seat together and
prepare the list of where
the projects will be executed, as soon as they
have done that,
contractors will be mobilised and I will ensure
that youths in the
communities are involve directly while the
community leaders will
serve as supervisors during and after the
projects have been
completed.”
He implored members of the community to get
genuine documents for
their lands and buildings in other to forestall
re-occurrence of
demolition that happened in Abule-Egba where
corporate organisations
do not have C of O to claim compensation for the
demolition of their
buildings.
The CDC Chairman, AlhajiAfeesAmzat, showered
encomium on Hon. Makinde
for his constant supports as the Vice Chairman
of AbuleEgba West CDA.
“It is a home-coming for our distinguished
honourable and as a member
of the CDC, he had been passionate about the
development of every
community and we have been feeling his impact in
the state house of
assembly.”
“For numerous gift items we have received and
countless problems he
had helped us to solve within the last one year
of his stay in office
we are very grateful and we pray you will be
able to do more.” CDC
Chairman concluded.
The All Progressives Congress Chairman in
Ojokoro LCDA Prince Adewale
Bello who also made a courtesy visit to the CDC
Secretariat, was full
of appreciation to the CDC members for their
belief in the party and
continuous support to all her candidates.
The number one party man in the LCDA also
uses the forum to promote
APC for the forthcoming federal constituency
bye-election in
Ifako/Ijaye.
“On behalf of the party we appreciate the CDC
for their countless
efforts to foster development in Ojokoro LCDA,
as a political party we
cannot do it alone we rely on the community to
make progress and am
sure the CDC will continue to support our party
APC.”
Community leaders who spoke to journalists
convinced that Hon. Makinde
had done extremely well in the last one year in
office. Chief Ajayi
from Ward G Ilo Agbegbemi CDA described the lawmaker’s
projects as a
very laudable one, assuring that the CDC will
always supports him.
The Chairperson Ojokoro Housing Estate CDA,
requested for a polling
unit and health centre within the estate with
over 600 housing units
and thickly populated.
“we lack basic health facility and no single
polling centre within the
estate of over 600 housing units and as such we
record low turnout of
voters because polling centre is a bit far and
likewise primary health
centre, if our honourable can assist us with
this few requests we will
forever be grateful.’’ She demanded.
It will be recalled that recently, the LSHA held
it Constituencies
stakeholders’ meeting across Lagos State, which
serve as a forum for
the people to know the government plans and also
an avenue to meet
with their legislator so as to chart a new
course for development in
Lagos State.
