
In a somber announcement, renowned Nollywood actor Dejumo Lewis, celebrated for his iconic role in the popular ‘Village Headmaster’ series, has passed away at the age of 80.
The news of Lewis’s demise was shared by actor Saidi Balogun on Saturday via an Instagram post, where he posted a photo of the late veteran actor. Balogun bid farewell, saying, “Good night DEJUMO LEWIS, may your soul rest in perfect peace. RIP.”
While specific details surrounding Lewis’s passing remain undisclosed, Balogun’s tribute has triggered an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow actors within the Nollywood industry.
Dejumo Lewis, a distinguished Nigerian film and television actor, gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the Kabiyesi character in ‘The Village Headmaster,’ Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera that aired on NTA from 1968 to 1988. The series also featured stalwarts like Justus Esiri and Femi Robinson, among others.
