QUOTE,”….if you are still a student please finish your education before venturing into acting. Because education is the number one thing in life without it you are nothing and you still need it in your acting”

Actress, NKECHIEMMANUEL, a.k.a N.K SEXY/NURSE TITI, is one of the popular faces in Nigeria movie scene who hail from Anambra State, Aguata Local Government Area, precisely Aguruezechukwu. In this exclusive interview with Flies magazine, shares her passion for acting
Educational background
I had my nursery and primary school education at Junior Strides Academy located at Ebuttemetta-Lagos and My high school was first at Strides Towers College Lekki but later moved to Government College Ikorodu where I stayed in the boarding school and I graduated from high school there in 2003. After which, I studied computer usage for 6 months where I graduated with Diploma in desktop publishing.  I went on to Lagos State University ( LASU) Festac campus where I studied history and international relations and I graduated in early 2014 as a diplomat. And now processing for my masters degree abroad.
How did u start your career in acting?
I started acting from childhood. I discovered I was always featuring in school drama, church dramas etc when I was much younger and whenever I was removed from any of a particular church or school drama not to join in participating I cried….. hell into falling sick and wouldn’t recover till I was taken to participate back again. I did this on and on till I graduated from high school and immediately after my graduation I told my mum I wanted to go ahead with acting professionally and she didn’t argue it with me for once ( maybe she didn’t want me to fall sick. Lol) rather she encouraged me and supported me in every little way a mum can do for her dear loved child that she cherished so much to the extent of reminding me of my audition dates and time, also dressing me up to look good and beat my best to be identified among all in the large crowd and giving me transportation too. She did a lot to support me till date and still encourages me. But initially my dad refused me to venture into it professionally, he wanted me to study and become a lawyer but when he saw the zeal and success he then gave in and supported me till date he is my number one fan and all my siblings are also in full support. I thank God for that.
I registered as an Actress professionally with ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA in August 2006 and till date am still a full time Nollywood Actress.
Tell us about your Love for camera?
My love for camera is not comparable to anything. I love camera, I love the end result of what it produces. Do you actually know how it feels to see your reflection some where else….I am always happy when I see my image by myself. It gives me joy and give me the opportunity to take time to look at myself and study my creature and say to myself so this is what I look like and this is how I also sound with the tune of my voice. I remember back in history from what I studied that back in our dark age the white men who came to deceive the blacks to smuggle the blacks as slaves back to their country came with so many things in exchange of human and mirror was one of the greatest our kings fell cheaply for because it showed the reflection of what they look like when they looked into the mirror which is the power of the mirror so same applies to camera for me. I love camera, I love lights and I love to hear ACTION! Replay, Forward

 Parental support

I told my mum I wanted to go into acting professionally and she didn’t argue it rather she encouraged me and supported me in every little way a mum can do for her dear love child. She cherish acting so much to the extent of reminding me of my audition dates and time also dressing me up to look good at my best to be identified among all in the large crowd. But initially my dad refused me to venture into it professionally, he wanted me to study and become a lawyer but when he saw the zeal and success he then gave in and supported. I can tell you categorically that till date he is my number one fan and all my siblings are also in full support. I thank GOD for that.
Tell us some of your major challenges so far
My major challenge so far was when I initially started….going from one audition to another without me knowing my fate at the end if I would be chosen or not. It wasn’t easy jumping from one okada to another just to beat the time and get to the audition ground on time and to write down my name on time before the 350 to 400 names will be written on the same list for audition. I would attend three to four auditions in a day in different distant locations and when I am short of transportation fare I trekked a long distance almost collapsing and loosing breath and my shoes getting spoilt day after day. When I was passing through all these challenges something kept pushing me to struggle and I kept doubling my efforts and I thank GOD I didn’t give up and here I am giving my testimony.
What competitions are you facing?
I have no competitor.  I am the competition to myself because I have to always improve myself all round at all times. I don’t have to wait for anyone to do it for me because no one will do it for me. So the earlier I compete with myself the better for me which I am doing already.
How many movies have u acted in?
I have featured in over 50 nollywood movies and over 10 Tv soap operas. Some of my movies are: Ghetto lords, ghetto republic , black ninja, love twist, the cheating wife, Adaora the smart girl, close watch, secondary school girls, SS3 students, final year students,  Naija Models, super models, jobless models, wicked lineage, wounded mother, terrible mother, Angelic woman, mission to the grave, horror in the grave, Zara, David my son, innocent devil, David my unborn son, soul of a woman, when you are mine, return of the scepter, confidential romance, two homes in one, chicken republic ,bird flu, faithful betrayal, desire, bad girls, twins in action, Val’s day, Old Testament , over the moon, my sacrifice ,look into my eyes, take me home, millennium queen etc…..just to mention but a few!
My soap operas are; Clinic matters, Tinsel, etc
If you are offered 10m naira to act ‘NUDE’ would you do it?
NO! N E V E R! Am a full complete African woman and it’s not in my culture to go NUDE for any reason for the public. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and i am made in the image of GOD so it’s wrong for me to show case my nakedness.
How do you manage your fame?
I do my thing in my own way. I don’t allow fame to deprive me from what I aim to do especially when it’s something that would make me happy. For instance, buying roasted plaintain ( boli ) on the road when I want to as it is one of my best foods….I love fame and I appreciate the good things it brings to my desk. And I also like the fact that it gives me opportunity to help others who are less privileged out there. I also respect myself always and respect my fame and maintain it. I manage my fame and don’t let it get into my head so it doesn’t make me lose my self control and start disrespecting people out there.
Tell us about your relationship. Are you married, single or searching?
I am not married and I am not searching. When I get married, you will all know.
What are your hobbies?
I love traveling, swimming, cooking, watching movies, sleeping, meeting people, driving, eating good food, dancing, dressing up, shopping, making up….etc
In terms of fashion, do you prefer any particular designer?
I like to wear designs from Louis Vuitton and channel but it doesn’t stop me from wearing other brands and designs from other designers. I also wear brand less designs from no name designers and from local designers for the fact that I am comfortable in it and it gives me class and makes me look elegant and it’s not so common then am good to go.
What is your advice for up and coming actors?
Aunty Omotola Jolade advised me this way and it worked for me so i am passing it unto others….if you are still a student please finish your education before venturing into acting because education is the number one thing in life without it you are nothing and you still need it in your acting profession and remember the industry will always be there for you anytime you come back. Don’t try to manage your education and acting carrier at the same time for you will have a divided attention and you will realize you are not gaining anything, rather you are losing from both sides without knowing. It’ will take you just four (4) years to be a graduate ,go for it and be great then come back into Nollywood  and you will be coming in a big way which will boost your career.
Also, be prayerful, focused, strong and believe in yourself. I love you all and am ready to assist and support in the best way I can.
