Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, narrowly escaped a potentially fatal road accident along the Daura-Katsina highway on Thursday evening while on official duty. The incident, described as a minor crash, occurred during one of the governor’s routine field visits within the state.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, it was confirmed that Governor Radda emerged from the accident unhurt and in stable condition.
“The Governor is safe, sustained no injuries, and remains in high spirits. He has since continued with his official engagements,” the statement read.
While details of the circumstances surrounding the accident remain limited, sources confirm that the mishap did not involve any fatalities or serious injuries among the governor’s convoy members.
Governor Radda has since expressed deep gratitude to the people of Katsina State and well-wishers across the country who have reached out with prayers and messages of concern.
“I thank Almighty Allah for His protection and all citizens for their heartfelt support. It’s a reminder of the fragility of life and the grace we enjoy daily,” the governor was quoted as saying.
The Governor’s team also reassured the public that all necessary precautions will continue to be taken to ensure the safety of the governor and members of his convoy during official outings.
