Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has climbed to third place on Galatasaray’s all-time list of highest-scoring foreign players following his latest goalscoring display for the Turkish champions.
Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 victory over Erzurum FK on Friday night, further strengthening his place in the club’s record books.
The brace took the Nigerian international’s total to 62 goals in 76 appearances for the Istanbul giants, moving him ahead of former Czech Republic forward Milan Baros, who scored 61 goals during his time at the club.
The 27-year-old has also registered 16 assists since joining Galatasaray.
Osimhen now sits behind only two foreign legends in the club’s scoring history. Argentine striker Mauro Icardi remains top of the chart with 77 goals, while Romanian football icon Gheorghe Hagi occupies second position with 72.
The prolific forward also matched a notable club milestone after making a flying start to the new Süper Lig campaign.
Osimhen became the first Galatasaray player since Brazilian striker Mario Jardel during the 2000/01 season to score at least four goals in the club’s opening two league matches.
The latest achievement highlights Osimhen’s increasing influence at Galatasaray as he continues to write his name into the history of the Turkish giants.
