LAGOS — The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has hailed the return of Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a major boost for the ruling party in Lagos State.
Jandor, who was the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), officially rejoined the APC on Tuesday and was warmly received by Obasa at his Ikeja GRA residence.
Speaking during the meeting, Obasa commended Jandor for what he termed an act of courage and political conviction. He noted that the APC has always provided an inclusive platform for visionary leaders and progressive-minded individuals to work together for the collective development of Lagos and Nigeria.
“We are happy to have you back. This is a very good move. The APC is the party that embodies the aspirations of Lagosians, and your return will further strengthen our drive to sustain good governance in the state,” Obasa said, assuring Jandor of full reintegration into the party’s structures.
In his remarks, Jandor expressed gratitude to the Speaker for the warm reception and reaffirmed his readiness to work with the APC in advancing the welfare of Lagosians. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, particularly his recent tax reforms, which he described as bold and people-centered.
“It takes courage and leadership to introduce such reforms in the face of resistance. The President has once again demonstrated his resolve to put the people first,” Jandor said.
The meeting ended on a note of unity, with both leaders pledging to collaborate in consolidating APC’s hold in Lagos and ensuring that governance continues to reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.
