Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, the outgoing Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.

Hundeyin takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command to oversee operations.
Police authorities described the change as part of routine administrative adjustments designed to promote career progression and optimize manpower deployment, stressing that it was neither punitive nor controversial.
CSP Hundeyin comes into the role with over a decade of experience in policing, crisis communication, and public relations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
In addition, he has undergone specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Leadership Institute, Jaji, and is a member of respected professional organizations such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).
His career has also extended beyond Nigeria, with a notable stint at the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he gained valuable experience in international peacekeeping and crisis communication.
Since March 2022, Hundeyin has served as the image maker of the Lagos State Police Command, where he earned commendations for his proactive engagement with citizens and the media. His tenure in Lagos was credited with strengthening police-community relations and improving public perception of the command.
As the new national police spokesperson, he is expected to lead the Force’s communication strategy, improve transparency, and foster greater trust between the police and the Nigerian public through timely information dissemination and effective crisis management.
The official transition will take place in the coming days with a formal handover ceremony at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
