The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Nancy Nathan as the Acting Head of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Service.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday in a statement by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, follows the passing of the former FCTA Head of Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, who died on September 1.
According to the statement, Nathan will serve in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.
Until her elevation, Nathan was the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA. She previously served as Director of Finance and Administration in the Office of the Minister of the FCT before her promotion to the rank of Permanent Secretary.
Her appointment takes immediate effect.
The development is seen as a move to ensure continuity in the administration of the FCTA, especially following the sudden vacuum created by Adayilo’s death.
