Emergency services swiftly mobilised to the scene as concerns mounted over the number of people who might be trapped under the rubble. As of press time, authorities had yet to confirm the number of casualties or those still trapped inside.
Teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are leading ongoing rescue and recovery operations, working tirelessly to locate and evacuate victims from the debris.
The cause of the collapse remains unclear, but officials have assured the public that an investigation will be launched once the emergency response phase is complete.
