Senator Ned Nwoko has finally spoken out following widespread concern over a viral video showing his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, in a heated and emotional confrontation, claiming her recent outburst was driven by drug and alcohol abuse.
In a lengthy statement and accompanying video posted to his verified Instagram handle @princenednwoko on Sunday, Nwoko described his wife’s recent behaviour as the result of “drug-induced instability”, alleging that she had attacked members of their household and destroyed property in his absence.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko stated.
The senator alleged that in the past 48 hours, Regina had assaulted three members of staff and damaged vehicles and property, claiming her erratic actions were the result of addiction and bad influence from certain friends.
“She slapped and hit three staff members and destroyed property, including cars and windows, without provocation. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs,” he alleged.
Nwoko said he had offered his wife two rehabilitation options — one in Asokoro, Abuja, and another in Jordan — both intended to isolate her from alleged enablers.
He also accused some of Regina’s close associates of supplying her with narcotics, naming two individuals he said were responsible for “fueling her addiction.”
“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” Nwoko alleged.
His comments come hours after a disturbing video surfaced online showing Regina Daniels in a visibly agitated state, shouting and appearing to walk away from an argument. In the footage, she could be heard saying:
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my own house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence—it’s too much.”
The video sparked public outrage and speculation about possible domestic violence, prompting Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, popularly known as Sammy West, to issue a fiery response on Instagram.
“Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood,” Sammy West wrote, vowing to protect his sister.
However, Nwoko dismissed allegations of physical abuse, insisting that Regina’s current state stemmed from substance dependency, not spousal violence.
“There has never been any violence from me. What we are dealing with is a health and addiction crisis, not domestic abuse,” the senator claimed.
The unfolding drama has dominated social media conversations, with fans and public figures expressing concern for both parties and calling for privacy and professional intervention.
Regina Daniels, who married Ned Nwoko in 2019, has not yet issued an official statement addressing her husband’s claims. The couple, whose 40-year age difference has often drawn public scrutiny, share two children together.
