“Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and her siblings made a heartfelt public appeal Wednesday evening for the safe return of their 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since late Saturday from her home near Tucson, Arizona.
In a video posted to Instagram, a visibly emotional Guthrie, flanked by her brother Camron and sister Annie, directly addressed anyone who might be holding their mother. The family urged that person to provide proof that Nancy is alive and to make contact. “We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us,” Guthrie said, acknowledging reports of a possible ransom note circulating in the media.
The siblings described Nancy as a “kind,” “faithful,” and “fiercely loving” woman, cherished by her grandchildren and respected as a family matriarch. They stressed that she has limited mobility, depends on daily medication, and is in fragile health, making the urgent return of her prescriptions critical.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday night. Authorities are treating her disappearance as a possible criminal act, with her home designated as a crime scene by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. No suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The family’s emotional plea underscored their anguish and determination to find Nancy safe. Savannah Guthrie addressed her mother directly: “Momma, if you’re listening, we need you to come home,” highlighting the personal toll of the ongoing search.
In a show of support, former President Donald Trump called Guthrie on Wednesday following his interview with NBC News’ Tom Llamas. On Truth Social, Trump said he is directing “ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family’s, and Local Law Enforcement’s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY.” He added, “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!”
Authorities continue to investigate, and the family has asked the public for prayers and support during this difficult time.
