Shareholders of BUA Cement Plc have approved a dividend payout of ₦338.64 billion for the 2025 financial year following a remarkable increase in the company’s revenue and profit performance.
The approval, which translates to ₦10.00 per share, was granted during the company’s 10th Annual General Meeting held in Abuja, where shareholders praised the management for delivering strong financial results despite prevailing economic challenges.
The company posted a record revenue of ₦1.2 trillion in 2025, representing a 34.5 per cent increase from the ₦876.5 billion recorded in 2024.
Gross profit also rose sharply to ₦604.1 billion, doubling from ₦300.2 billion reported in the previous year.
Profit After Tax climbed significantly to ₦356 billion, compared to ₦73.9 billion in 2024, reflecting a 381.7 per cent increase.
Earnings per share equally improved to ₦10.00 from ₦2.18 recorded a year earlier, highlighting stronger profitability and operational efficiency despite macroeconomic pressures.
Chairman of the company, Abdul Samad Rabiu, attributed the impressive performance to strategic planning, disciplined execution and the confidence reposed in the company by shareholders.
According to him, the company remained resilient amid ongoing economic reforms and operational pressures while strengthening its position within Nigeria’s cement industry.
Rabiu said the growing emphasis on concrete road construction and infrastructure development across the country continued to create new opportunities for cement manufacturers.
He also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expansion and strengthening its bulk cement distribution network to meet rising market demand.
The chairman further disclosed that the planned commissioning of the BUA LNG project later this year is expected to significantly reduce energy costs, improve production efficiency and boost the company’s long-term competitiveness.
