Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially released his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, a 13-track project featuring collaborations with a mix of African and international artistes.
The album dropped on Friday, July 31, following weeks of anticipation after Davido teased its arrival across his social media platforms.
ORIADÉ includes guest appearances from Black Sherif, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, FOLA, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, showcasing a blend of Afrobeats with diverse musical influences.
Announcing the release, Davido described the album as an expansion of his musical legacy, saying it features “musical royalty from top to bottom.”
The 13-song collection is the shortest studio album of Davido’s career, marking a departure from his previous five albums, each of which contained 17 tracks.
Among the songs on the album are the previously released singles I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, and Gimme Dat Ting, a collaboration with NO11. While I Know Who I Be reflects on the singer’s 15-year journey in the music industry, Gimme Dat Ting fuses Afrobeats with Amapiano influences.
In a recent interview with American media platform Notion, Davido said the project was designed to appeal to a broad audience, with songs tailored to different musical tastes.
The album’s tracklist includes On The Road, Amazing Grace featuring Black Sherif, Julie, Constantly, I Know Who I Be, Gimme Dat Ting, B4 B4 featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, Already Falling, Tell Everybody featuring Leon Thomas, Yaya featuring Aya Nakamura, Zanzibar, Guide, and My Light featuring Llona.
Following the album’s release, Davido has also begun unveiling dates for a world tour that will support ORIADÉ and bring the new project to audiences across multiple countries.
