The
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba, has issued an order for the
posting
and redeployment of 21 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs).
This directive was communicated by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa
Adejobi, on Saturday, with immediate effect. The rationale behind this exercise
is to align with the IGP’s policy of placing the right individuals in suitable
positions to enhance manpower development.
The
redeployment of these AIGs is also part of the IGP’s plan to strengthen the
operational structures of commands, departments, and formations. In a statement
issued by Adejobi, the IGP has charged all the newly posted and redeployed officers
to perform optimally in their new roles, ensuring that the activities of their
Commands, Formations, and Departments are in line with the Police Reform
mandate. The IGP has also tasked them to comply with all standard operating
procedures in the discharge of their responsibilities.
