
President Bola Tinubu has boldly declared his candidacy for inclusion in the Guinness World Records, citing the impactful reforms he has implemented since assuming office on May 29, 2023. Speaking at the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum in Berlin, Germany, Tinubu recounted his transformative tenure as the governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. He asserted that under his leadership, Lagos evolved from ground zero to become the fifth-largest economy in Africa, a feat that he believes uniquely qualifies him for the presidency. Drawing attention to his private sector background and experience as the treasurer of Exxon Mobil, Tinubu emphasized his commitment to corporate governance. Confident in his presidential capabilities, he underscored his dedication to initiating reforms from the outset of his presidency, expressing a desire for recognition in the Guinness Book of Records.
