President Bola Tinubu has addressed concerns over the mass exodus of young professionals, assuring Nigerians not to worry about the phenomenon locally known as “Japa.” The term refers to the migration of skilled professionals seeking better opportunities abroad.
Tinubu made these remarks during an official visit to Imo State, where he attended the inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term in Owerri. The President acknowledged the ongoing trend but emphasized that measures would be taken to train more individuals to fill the vacancies left by those relocating overseas.
“Don’t worry about what you are hearing about Japa syndrome. We will train more people and supply them,” Tinubu reassured the public. The statement reflects a commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the departure of skilled professionals and ensuring a continuous supply of trained individuals to meet the demands of various sectors in the country.
