In breaking news, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Hon. Dennis Idahosa as its deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming September 21 Edo governorship election.
Idahosa will join Senator Monday Okpebholo as his running mate for the APC in the state. Notably, Idahosa was previously among the aspirants contending for the APC ticket during the Edo governorship election primaries. However, he lost to Okpebholo, who emerged as the party’s flag bearer for the November 21, 2024, election.
The unveiling of Idahosa took place at a meeting held on Sunday night, attended by key figures including APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and other party leaders.
Abdullahi Ganduje, accompanied by the party’s National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, is set to present Senator Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the villa today.
Dennis Idahosa is slated to replace Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who was previously named as the running mate by the governorship candidate. This development marks a significant shift in the APC’s strategy for the Edo 2024 election, signaling a new phase in their campaign efforts.
