The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and renowned celebrity barman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, have agreed to settle the naira abuse charge outside of court.
The agreement for an out-of-court settlement was disclosed during the resumption of proceedings on Thursday. Cubana Chief Priest appeared before Justice Kehinde Ogundare, facing three counts related to the abuse of the national currency during a social gathering. These alleged actions are said to be in violation of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
The decision to settle outside of court signifies a mutual understanding between the EFCC and Cubana Chief Priest to resolve the matter amicably, without further legal proceedings.
Further details regarding the terms of the settlement and any additional developments in the case are expected to be provided in due course.
