The Federal Ministry of Works has announced the closure of the Oworo-bound section of the Third Mainland Bridge for essential repairs. The closure will begin at midnight on Saturday, May 25, and last until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26.
Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, made this announcement in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos. She explained that the closure is necessary to carry out urgent maintenance work on the bridge.
“We regret any inconveniences this closure may cause motorists and advise them to use alternative routes during this period,” Kesha said. She emphasized the importance of the repairs for the safety and longevity of the bridge, which is a crucial infrastructure connecting various parts of Lagos.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow any traffic advisories or detours that will be in place to ease the flow of traffic during the repair period. The Ministry of Works assured the public that all efforts would be made to complete the repairs as swiftly as possible to minimize disruption.
Further updates and information on alternative routes will be provided by the Ministry to assist commuters in navigating the temporary closure.
