Chelsea FC’s newly appointed head coach, Enzo Maresca, has declared his ambition to lead the team to victory and foster a strong club culture as he embarks on his tenure with the London-based football giants.
In his inaugural interview at Stamford Bridge, released on Chelsea’s official YouTube channel on Monday, Maresca shared his enthusiasm and readiness to face the challenges ahead.
“Very happy, excited. It will be a fantastic journey,” Maresca remarked, highlighting his eagerness to begin working with the squad.
The Italian coach arrives at Chelsea following a successful period at Leicester City and emphasized the importance of his initial days at the club in getting acquainted with the new environment and personnel.
Maresca expressed particular excitement about the potential within Chelsea’s talented roster.
“One of the reasons I’m here is because I’m convinced that the squad is very good,” he stated confidently.
The new head coach underscored the significance of player development as a key factor in enhancing the team’s overall performance. “If you can improve players, that means that you improve the team,” he explained.
Discussing his coaching philosophy, Maresca stressed the need for a distinct playing style. Reflecting on his past success at Leicester, he quickly turned the focus to the future: “It’s already finished now. New chapter, new squad, new club.”
