In response to a recent viral post suggesting that Air Peace has doubled the cost of its flights from Lagos to Abuja, the airline has officially debunked the claim. The post, which circulated widely, stated that from November 1, 2024, a one-way ticket for the route would cost N200,000, sparking concern among travelers and industry watchers.
A quick check on the airline’s website, however, revealed that a one-way flight from Lagos to Abuja remains significantly lower than the alleged N200,000 fare. As of this report, ticket prices for November 1 are listed at approximately N114,000, a figure that Air Peace says more accurately reflects current market rates and demand.
In a statement addressing the false claims, Air Peace clarified that the information about the 100% fare hike did not originate from them. “We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace,” the airline stated, adding that the post, which featured an image of the airline’s Chairman, Mr. Allen Onyema, was fabricated.
“We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described,” the statement continued. Air Peace emphasized that any legitimate fare updates would be shared solely through the airline’s verified platforms. “We encourage our valued customers and clients to rely exclusively on our verified channels for accurate updates and information on fares.”
This clarification from Air Peace aims to reassure customers of its commitment to transparency and affordability in flight pricing, underscoring the airline’s policy to issue announcements only through official sources.
