The FCT Police Command has launched an intensive search operation for Blessing Karami Moses, a 26-year-old student at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), who mysteriously disappeared on Monday, 11th September 2023.
Genesis Moses Karami, the distressed elder brother of the missing student, spoke to THE WHISTLER in a phone interview, revealing the chilling details of her disappearance.
According to Mr. Karami, Blessing Karami Moses, who is a single student pursuing a course in early childhood development, was last seen leaving her workplace at a plaza in Area 3 junction. She was employed by Visest Supplement company and had reportedly left the office after finishing her work duties at around 5 PM.
In a puzzling turn of events, Blessing had departed from work with the office key on that fateful day, a practice she had never followed before, according to her colleagues. The following day, as her coworkers arrived at the office, they discovered her absence and the locked office, sparking immediate concern.
Mr. Karami explained, “The remaining staff came to the office on Tuesday and didn’t find her, and the office was closed. So that was when they raised an alarm that they have been trying her number but it’s not going through, so they had to reach out to my elder sister because she worked with the woman (owner of the company).”
Though there was no sign of forced entry and no apparent theft or dispute within the office, her colleagues decided to break into the office to investigate further. They found nothing amiss apart from Blessing’s inexplicable absence.
According to Mr. Karami, there were no known conflicts or issues between Blessing and her coworkers. He stated, “Everybody was like; ‘is it not Blessing? A jovial person’ and all of that. So I can’t say if she had any issue with them to the best of my knowledge.”
Blessing’s boss at the office has also been actively involved in the search for her. The family has reported her disappearance to the Durumi police station, where a formal statement has been recorded. The police are currently conducting investigations into the case, with signals sent to relevant authorities to aid in the search.
Regarding the possibility of Blessing having a boyfriend she might have visited, Mr. Karami shared, “From the little we were able to gather, they said she was dating one guy in their plaza. Yes, we talked with him; the police even investigated him. According to him, they were supposed to meet that day, but she couldn’t wait for him because he was in town, so she left the plaza before he came back.”
Blessing Karami Moses’ disappearance has left her family devastated, with her mother in Kaduna and her brother anxiously hoping for her safe return. The circumstances surrounding her vanishing act remain shrouded in mystery, and the search for answers continues as the police intensify their efforts to locate her.
