Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has assumed office as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), succeeding Afam Osigwe, SAN.
Badejo-Okusanya was inaugurated on Friday at a ceremony held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where she took the oath of office administered by the outgoing NBA president.
The ceremony attracted senior members of the legal profession, including prominent figures from the Bar and Bench, as well as other dignitaries.
During the transition ceremony, Osigwe formally handed over the leadership of the association to his successor and presented her with a handover note outlining key matters relating to the NBA.
Addressing Badejo-Okusanya, Osigwe said the document represented the initial handover materials, noting that a more detailed report would be provided subsequently.
“This is your handover note. A more comprehensive one will be given to you later. I hereby now bow out,” he said.
With the inauguration, Badejo-Okusanya officially begins her tenure as the 33rd president of the NBA, taking charge of the professional body representing lawyers across Nigeria.
