Can
you tell us about yourself?

My name is Beatrice
Uwamai. I am from Edo State  and a
student of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma. I am the 2^nd runner
up of Miss Peace Africa 2021 and I am the Miss Peace Africa Top Model 2021. I
am 22 years old.

How
do you feel being part of the winners of the pageantry?

I feel good. I am super
happy about it and I thank God for everything. I was not expecting to be among
the winners but grace found me.

Did
you know you would be among the winners of the pageantry from its onset?

From the onset, I truly
didn’t know I would win. However, I hoped and prayed for it from the onset of
the pageantry because I contest to win, I don’t contest to fail.

What
did you enjoy most about the pageantry?

I enjoyed many things
that were done in the cause of the pageantry. However, the one I enjoyed most
was when we were asked to showcase what we could do best.

So
what did you showcase?

I love dancing. Dancing
is actually my hubby so I did a leg walk/dance, I displayed a skillful “Pokoli”
dance while putting on heels. The dance wowed people and attracted a lot of
admiration, support, interest and belief in me.

What
do you think you did differently that made you standout and emerge as one of
the winners of Miss Peace Africa?

I don’t really know but
I guess it was because of my dancing skill, my cat walking steps, and my
resilience. I really tried my best, I put in a lot of efforts.

Some
people believe models are sexually loose and may need to be sexually intimate
with certain people to win pageantries. What is your reaction to that?

It is not true that
models are loose. Models are decent people although a few of the bad ones make
people generalize and label models as sexually loose.

What
do you advice models who encounter are required to give sexual gratifications
to men in order to win pageantries?

I will tell them not to
do so. As a model, be good with the nitty-gritty of pageantry and modeling and
if you prepare hard enough, one day your time of greatness without moral
debasement will come.

What
do you think makes a good model?

Character and intellectual
radiance are the true constituents of a model. It is not just about beauty.
Being a model is beyond being beautiful. Real beauty manifests in character

What
are your best meal and colour?

My best food is fufu, with ogbono soup and plenty bush meat (laughs) while my best colour is
pink.

So
during the Ebola virus period when Nigerians were warned to avoid eating bush
meat, how did you survive without bush meat?

We are Africans; Ebola
doesn’t affect the black man. Our blood is very strong so I was still eating
bush meats.

What
of Corona virus. Would you say it cannot affect Africans too?

Well, it is a different
case, but what I know is that it is God that is saving us and not the
preventive measures recommended by World Health Organization.

What
is one thing you can never do in life irrespective of the pressure on you?

I will never kill
somebody emotionally or otherwise and I will never deny God.

In a game of truth and
a lie, tell us something true about you and something not true then allow the
audience to guess which is the truth and the lie.

I have been to the
United Kingdom but I don’t have a passport.

Behind every successful
man there is a woman and vice-versa. Is there a man behind your success in Miss
Peace Africa Pageant?

Yes, there is a man
behind my success… (laughs).
