Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, as excitement builds ahead of the global football tournament.
The announcement was made by FIFA on Tuesday, revealing that Davido will take the stage alongside Major Lazer, the music project led by Diplo, during the June 10 event at the Crypto.com Arena.
According to FIFA, the Los Angeles concert is part of a groundbreaking synchronized live music series that will take place across the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup — the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The football governing body described the event as a celebration of music, culture and sport, bringing together fans from around the world in the lead-up to the tournament.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration featuring Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said in a statement.
The concert will begin with doors opening at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, while the live broadcast is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The event will also connect audiences with performances taking place simultaneously in Mexico City and Toronto through live streaming technology.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the concert series reflects the unity and cultural diversity that define the World Cup.
He noted that Los Angeles, one of the world’s leading entertainment hubs, will deliver a memorable experience for football enthusiasts and music lovers just days before the tournament kicks off in the United States.
Tickets for the event go on sale on June 3, while fans worldwide will be able to watch the concert through FIFA’s digital platforms, including an exclusive livestream on the FIFA World Cup TikTok channel. FIFA also announced that full performances and behind-the-scenes footage will be available afterward on its VuMe Live platform.
The concert marks another major international appearance for Davido as the Nigerian star continues to expand his global presence through music and high-profile international events.
