Edo
State Women under the auspices of the Insured Good People (IGP), a non-governmental
organization that fights against molestation, abuse and assault have pledged
their support for the re-election of Governor Obaseki in 2020.

The
spokesperson of the women, Mrs. Osargue Pat Osagie made this known in an
interview with journalists at IGP’s end-of-the-year party and children seminar
at 12, Jemide Drive, off Goodwill, Benin City yesterday.

Mrs.
Osagie cited that Edo state women have chosen to support Obaseki again in 2020
because unlike some of his predecessors, he is a voice to voiceless women in
Edo State, has constructed and is constructing many dilapidated roads in the
State and is continually ensuring that all pensioners are paid their arrears.

In
her words, “governor Obaseki is a working governor and Edo State women have
chosen to support him because he listens to us; he is constructing and has
constructed several roads; and he has also ensured all our pensioners are paid
their arrears”.

She
added that Governor Obaseki hates assault; abuse and molestation of all sorts
against women and that Edo State women have never regretted voting for him in
the first tenure and would as well vote for him again.

Speaking
to our correspondent, the legal adviser to IGP, Barrister Ewah Gregory noted
that although IGP is an organization geared towards fighting abuse, molestation
and assault of all sorts, however, the Non-Governmental Organization cannot
throw to the mud the many soul-lifting works governor Obaseki is doing in Edo
State.

“IGP
is a non-governmental organization that frowns against, and legally tackles
molestation, abuse and assault. However, the good works of Obaseki are too
soul-lifting to be ignored and that is why we have decided to support him”, he
said.

In
addition, the president of IGP, Mr.
Edefe
Osagie J. P
also added that IGP remains a non-governmental
organization but strongly advocates for the re-election of Obaseki because the
governor is compassionate, tender loving, logical and detests abuse,
molestation, and assault.

“We
will support Obaseki in 2020 because he is a wake-and-see-good-things governor.
We will ensure his 4+4 years is complete as Edo State governor because he has
been assisting us fight abuse, molestation and assault in Edo State”, he added.
