Renowned musician, Eedris Abdulkareem, has made a bold statement, challenging Burna Boy’s self-proclaimed title of “African Giant” and instead hailing Davido as the rightful “Odogwu.”
In a video circulating online, Abdulkareem criticized Burna Boy, suggesting that he falls short of embodying the essence of an “Odogwu.”
He argued that Davido, through his notable achievements and positive impact on society, deserves the esteemed title of “Odogwu” more than Burna Boy.
Addressing Burna Boy directly, Abdulkareem stated, “You’re not behaving like an African person; you’re behaving like a (caption this). Please take it easy, dude. What’s going on?”
He continued, “Davido has been there before you; Wizkid has been there before you; a lot of people have been there before you. You’re not a giant, you’re not the giant of Africa.”
Asserting his perspective, Abdulkareem affirmed, “You never reach Odogwu; Davido is the Odogwu. I am Eedris Abdulkareem, and I speak the truth, whether you like it or not.”
Drawing parallels, Abdulkareem referenced a past encounter with 2face Idibia, advising against letting fame inflate one’s ego.
He concluded, “Davido is the true Odogwu; I don’t know you. Davido is the only Odogwu we recognize because he has positively impacted the lives of people, without overshadowing others.”
Abdulkareem’s remarks have sparked discussions across social media platforms, with fans and observers weighing in on the debate surrounding the title of “Odogwu” in the Nigerian music industry.
