The
family of the late Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, has finalized the date for his
burial,
which will take place on August 18th. Naija News reported that the
talented actor passed away on May 7, 2023, at the residence of one of his
siblings on Metropolitan Street in Tudun Wada, Jos.
In
a statement released on August 3rd, the Nwafor family of Ogwa, Imo State,
extended a warm invitation to all to join them in bidding farewell to their
beloved Obinna Nwafor, known as Saint Obi. He was not only a talented actor but
also a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and son. The funeral service
and interment will be held at the Saint Obi’s family home in Umuezealaeze,
Alaenyi Ogwa, Imo State.
In
the wake of Saint Obi’s passing, filmmaker Zik Zulu expressed his views on the
circumstances surrounding the actor’s death. Zulu penned an article titled
‘Between Saint Obi’s Marriage and His Death,’ wherein he suggested that the
actor’s marital life might have played a role in his demise. Zulu claimed that
Saint Obi’s rise to stardom brought him a financially well-off and influential
wife, leading to a marriage that significantly impacted the course of his life.

Zulu further disclosed that Saint Obi’s marriage was marred by constant
harassment from his wife’s siblings, ultimately leading to the breakdown of
their relationship. Following their divorce ordeal in mid-2022, the actor’s
health began to decline, culminating in his illness and eventual relocation to
his sibling’s home in Jos, where he spent his last days.
