Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has stirred reactions online with a cryptic message widely interpreted as a dig at Morocco following controversies surrounding the just-concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali’s post came in the wake of renewed criticism of the host nation’s conduct during the tournament, despite Morocco being awarded the AFCON Fair Play Award. Some fans and pundits had accused Moroccan officials and ball boys of using gamesmanship tactics, including the removal of towels placed behind goalposts, allegedly to distract or unsettle opposing goalkeepers.
Reacting shortly after the final between Senegal and Morocco, the Nigerian shot-stopper took to his Instagram story with a message written in pidgin English: “Make una use all my towels una carry wipe una tears.”
Although Nwabali did not mention Morocco directly, the timing and context of the post led many football fans to interpret it as a pointed response to the ongoing debate over sportsmanship at the tournament.
The comment quickly gained traction on social media, adding to discussions around fair play, officiating, and host conduct at the 2025 AFCON, which ended with Senegal emerging champions.
