The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement (OK Movement), a political support group promoting collaboration among supporters of Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has appointed former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), High Chief Peter Ameh, as its National Director-General.
The group said Ameh’s appointment was part of efforts to strengthen its nationwide mobilisation strategy, expand grassroots structures, and provide strategic leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The National Convener of the movement, Hon. Jackie Wayas, announced the appointment in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the decision was unanimously approved by the organisation’s steering committee after considering Ameh’s experience in politics, democratic advocacy, and public service.
Wayas described Ameh as a respected political figure with vast knowledge of electoral processes, governance, and institutional reforms, adding that his leadership experience would help reposition the movement for greater national impact.
“The Steering Committee is delighted to welcome High Chief Peter Ameh as the National Director-General of the OK Movement. His wealth of experience in politics, leadership, and nation-building makes him the ideal person to provide strategic direction as we continue to build a united platform for national transformation,” Wayas said.
He noted that Ameh’s previous role as IPAC chairman, where he advocated electoral reforms, political inclusion, and stronger democratic institutions, made him suitable for the new position.
The movement expressed confidence that Ameh’s appointment would improve its organisational structure, deepen engagement with Nigerians across the country, and boost its ability to mobilise support around its vision of accountable and people-focused leadership.
According to the group, Ameh has consistently promoted transparency, good governance, and democratic reforms, earning recognition across different political circles.
The OK Movement said it is focused on building a broad-based platform that encourages cooperation among progressive political forces, particularly supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, while promoting greater citizen participation in democratic processes.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to national unity, visionary leadership, and inclusive governance as it prepares for expanded political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
