Afrobeats singer Portable has accused the organisers of bias following his defeat to skit maker Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing match held on Saturday morning.
Portable made the allegations during a live Instagram video shortly after the bout, claiming the result was unfair and the fight was not properly judged in his favour.
“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was strangling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them?” he said. “They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad.”
He also criticised the organisers of the event, demanding payment related to streaming rights, which he claimed amounted to about ₦200 million, and insisted he would take action if not compensated.
Despite his anger over the result, Portable shifted focus to personal matters, saying the defeat mattered less than the birth of his newborn son.
“You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought,” he said, adding that he valued his family more than any boxing title.
The match, which took place at the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event in Lagos, ended in a unanimous decision victory for Carter Efe. All three judges scored the fight 27–30 in his favour, ending Portable’s run as celebrity boxing champion.
Ahead of the contest, Portable had confidently predicted victory, boasting that he would secure another title after previous wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
However, Carter Efe dominated the bout using his reach and height advantage, controlling the pace across all three rounds and landing cleaner punches to secure the win and claim the celebrity boxing crown.
