Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has expressed support for celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.
Cubana Chief Priest, who contested for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections, lost the primary to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, after securing 14 votes in the exercise.
Reacting to the outcome, Seyi Tinubu shared a message of encouragement via his Instagram page on Sunday, urging the nightlife promoter not to lose hope despite the setback.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” he wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest later reposted the message on his social media page.
Earlier, the socialite, who also serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, addressed supporters in a viral video, stating that he had no regrets about joining the race despite the defeat.
According to him, his major disappointment was placing trust in community elders whom he claimed failed to support him during the primary election.
“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.
The primary election result has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users questioning the level of political support enjoyed by the celebrity businessman despite his public backing of the president and the ruling APC.
