Vice President Kashim Shettima will visit Ekiti State on Tuesday for a one-day working tour, during which he is expected to commission major infrastructure projects and perform groundbreaking ceremonies aimed at boosting the state’s development agenda.
The Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Yinka Oyebode, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Ado Ekiti.
According to the statement, Governor Oyebanji and other top government officials will receive the Vice President at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport upon his arrival.
Oyebode said Shettima, who will represent President Bola Tinubu during the visit, will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, a project expected to strengthen innovation and technology-driven growth in the state.
The Vice President is also scheduled to inaugurate the newly completed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road in Ado Ekiti.
In addition, he will commission the newly constructed 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, one of the flagship projects of the Biodun Oyebanji administration.
“During the visit, Vice President Shettima, who will be representing President Bola Tinubu, will perform the groundbreaking for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone. He will also inaugurate the newly built zonal office of the EFCC and commission the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover,” the statement noted.
The upcoming trip will mark Shettima’s second official visit to Ekiti State since assuming office. In May 2024, the Vice President visited the state and commissioned several projects, including the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic in Ado Ekiti.
The state government expressed confidence that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure a successful visit.
Oyebode added that the Oyebanji administration remains committed to leveraging partnerships with the Federal Government, sub-national governments, development agencies, relevant institutions, and the private sector to drive sustainable development across the state.
The visit is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the Federal Government and Ekiti State while highlighting ongoing investments in infrastructure, economic development, and public service delivery.
