
President Bola Tinubu has given his nod to the appointment of Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for a four-year term.
In an official statement issued by the President’s spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential directive also includes the dissolution of the Board of NAHCON.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has instructed the outgoing Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, to embark on a three-month pre-retirement leave in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243, effective from October 18, 2023, ultimately leading to his retirement from service on January 17, 2024.
Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, the newly appointed Chairman and CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, will assume the role in an acting capacity on October 18, 2023. He will subsequently serve in a substantive capacity for a fresh term of four years commencing on January 17, 2024.
The President has expressed his hope that the new leadership of NAHCON will conduct their duties with deep respect for Allah and unwavering adherence to the principles of service as outlined in the Holy Qur’an, as stated by Ngelale.
