The Presidency has strongly denied claims by former African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, that he was offered three ministerial positions to withdraw support for his party’s alignment with an opposition coalition.
The allegation, which surfaced earlier this week, was addressed on Wednesday night by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication. Posting on his verified X handle, Bwala described Nwosu’s claims as “implausible and without merit.”
“From his words as reported, you know that he lied,” Bwala wrote, insisting that such an arrangement could not have been made.
Bwala outlined three key points to counter the claim. First, he stated that no government official apart from President Tinubu has the authority to offer ministerial slots. “If such an offer were made, it would have come directly from Mr. President himself—not through any intermediaries,” he said.
Secondly, he questioned Nwosu’s refusal to name the alleged officials who supposedly made the offer. “The same courage he used to say he was promised slots could have been used to name the individuals and their positions in this government,” Bwala argued.
Finally, the presidential aide dismissed the allegation as part of a broader pattern of theatrics from opposition figures attempting to rally support. “They are painfully graduating to the Association of Jesters—or should I say, the Association of Disorganised Characters,” he wrote.
The claim comes amid ongoing efforts by opposition parties to form a united political front ahead of the 2027 general elections—a move the Presidency has repeatedly downplayed.
