In a bold move to expand its international footprint, Nigerian airline Air Peace has announced the commencement of direct flights from Abuja to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports, starting October 26, 2025.
The development marks a major milestone, making Air Peace the first Nigerian carrier to offer non-stop flights from the nation’s capital to both of the UK’s major international gateways. The new routes will be operated with the airline’s wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, ensuring enhanced passenger comfort on long-haul flights.
To celebrate the route launch, Air Peace is offering introductory round-trip fares starting at ₦1 million, available via its official website and accredited travel agents.
Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, described the expansion as a reflection of the airline’s vision for greater international accessibility and improved convenience for Nigerian travelers.
“We are thrilled to launch these direct services from Abuja to Heathrow and Gatwick. It reflects our dedication to expanding international access for our valued customers,” Onyema stated.
In a bid to simplify travel, the airline has also introduced a seamless one-ticket model. This means passengers flying from cities like Enugu, Port Harcourt, Kano, Owerri, and Asaba can connect through Abuja to London on a single itinerary—without the hassle of multiple bookings or baggage re-checking.
Industry observers say the new routes are poised to enhance business, tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, particularly benefiting travelers based in Nigeria’s northern and eastern regions.
With this development, Air Peace continues to position itself as a dominant player in West Africa’s aviation sector, promising world-class service with strong national pride.
