Tiwa
Savage, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has made a firm decision never to
share confidential information with her mum again. The incident that led to
this resolution occurred when she received an invitation to perform at King
Charles III’s coronation. Wanting to keep it low-key, she confided in her mum
and explicitly asked her not to tell anyone. However, to her dismay, her mum
shared the news with her brother within just 20 minutes.
In
an interview with MTV UK, Tiwa Savage revealed that initially, she didn’t fully
grasp the significance of performing at the King’s coronation. Consequently,
she was cautious about revealing the opportunity to many people. Unfortunately,
her trust in her mum’s discretion was betrayed, and it left her feeling wary
about sharing sensitive information with her family in the future.
As
she reflected on the experience, Tiwa acknowledged the immense honor and
pressure that came with being the only representative from the Commonwealth at
the event. She confessed that discovering this fact added to the excitement and
sense of responsibility she felt about the performance.
Looking
back at the historic moment, Tiwa Savage expressed her gratitude for being the
first Nigerian artiste to perform at a British royal event. The experience was
truly iconic and left a lasting impression on her. Despite the initial
disappointment with her mum’s inadvertent leak, Tiwa cherished the opportunity
to represent the Commonwealth and create cherished memories from the
unforgettable performance at King Charles III’s coronation concert and Big
Lunch in March.
