Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, stands on the
brink of becoming the highest-
paid African footballer should he decide to join
Al Hilal this summer. Reports from Sky Sports indicate that the Saudi Arabian
club has made an astonishing £120.3 million bid to secure his services.
The Middle East has witnessed a surge of top-notch players
arriving this off-season, lured by lucrative contracts that are simply hard to
resist. Even African players have not been immune to this trend, with names
like Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, and Eduoard Mendy opting to leave Europe for
Saudi Arabia.
Riyad Mahrez has reportedly signed a three-year contract with
Al Ahli, which will see him earning an astounding £750,000-per-week. Meanwhile,
Sadio Mane is set to pocket around £650,000-per-week at Al Nassr, an equally
impressive sum.
However, the crown for the best-paid footballer from the
African continent will belong to Victor Osimhen if he accepts Al Hilal’s
tempting offer of £1 million-per-week. At just 24 years of age, Osimhen’s
potential move could catapult him to new heights in terms of financial rewards.
While the Nigerian talent has engaged in talks regarding a
possible contract extension with Napoli, an agreement has not been reached yet.
As things stand, his existing deal with Napoli is scheduled to expire in 2025,
leaving him with a critical decision to make about his future in the coming
days.
